PAINTING

some attempts in painting

Trying to discover which medium works best for me. I've tried watercolour, acrylic, oil paint, gouache, and pastels so far, and still haven't found the "one."

DRAWING

"Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating. It is either good or bad." —Salvador Dali

Most of the time I would hear people say, "I can't draw!" I believe that it is a misconception. I suppose that we learned to draw even before we learned to speak. That should explain drawings on your old home's walls. Here are some of my drawings, and just as what the quote say, it is either good or bad. Nevertheless, it is still a drawing.

DIGITAL ART

“Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.” -Neville Brody

When I was first introduced to a computer, I was excited but scared just because it looks like the LED-lit mouse will electrocute me, but I got so hooked that for about 4 years I never used a single pen for writing, that was the time I did some digital illustrations. This is the field I plan to expand on. It's been a long time dream to create digital compositions—painting, drawing to story books and comics. Let's see how it pans out.

COLORING

"Life is like a box of crayons."

I just can't live without color in my life! When I was going through a rough time, battling with depression, artist block, and just when I feel like I'm going to snap, I opened my dust-covered-and-forgotten box of crayons, colored pencils, and pastels and started coloring! Thankfully, during that time, coloring books for adults was the current hype. Thanks to those illustrators who have shared their black and white drawings to the world begging to be colored. But to be honest, those black and whites were intimidating, I grappled in fear, in the end because of the desperation to live in color, I started finding my way to the creative world.

PHOTOGRAPHY

seeing beauty through the lens

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
